Keep Your Awning
working at its best

Your retractable awning is exposed to the British weather throughout the year. Sun, rain, wind, dirt and general use can all take their toll over time.

Regular servicing and maintenance can help identify wear early, keep your awning operating smoothly and help extend its useful life.

I provide retractable awning servicing, maintenance and cleaning across Essex & Suffolk for both manual and motorised systems.

WHY SERVICE YOUR AWNING?

A retractable awning is a mechanical system with moving parts, fixings, fabric and, in many cases, a motor and sensors.

A regular service gives me the opportunity to check how everything is operating, identify potential problems and make sure the awning is safe and functioning as it should.

It can also help catch smaller issues before they develop into more expensive repairs.

what's included?

Depending on your awning and its condition, a typical service can include:

FULL OPERATION
INSPECTION

ARM & BRACKET
SAFETY CHECK

MOTOR & REMOTE
TESTING

LIGHT HARDWARE
CLEAN

SENSOR
TESTING

FABRIC CONDITION
INSPECTION

LUBRICATION OF
MOVING PARTS

GENERAL SAFETY
ASSESSMENT

I'll also talk you through anything I find and let you know if I think further work is recommended.

AWNING CLEANING

Your awning fabric and hardware are exposed to the elements throughout the year, so dirt, dust, bird deposits, algae and general grime can gradually build up.

A professional clean can help improve the appearance of your awning and remove accumulated dirt before it becomes more difficult to deal with. I'll assess the condition of the fabric and components first and advise you on the most appropriate cleaning approach for your particular awning.

Is Your Awning Showing Signs of Wear?

If something doesn't feel right, it's usually better to have it checked rather than continue using the awning and potentially make the problem worse.

You may benefit from a service if you've noticed:

- AWNING NOT RETRACTING PROPERLY -

- MOTOR OR REMOTE FAULTS -

- UNEVEN PROJECTION AND ARM MOVEMENT -

- SAGGING FABRIC -

- LOOSE WALL BRACKETS -

- FABRIC DAMAGE -

- NOISY OPERATION -

- SENSOR FAULTS -

WHAT IF MY
AWNING NEEDS REPAIR?

A service can sometimes identify issues that need more than routine maintenance.

If I find a faulty motor, damaged component, worn mechanism or another problem, I'll explain what I've found and discuss the available options with you. I won't automatically recommend replacing the whole awning.

Where practical, repairing or replacing individual components may be the better option.

That's an important part of the way I work —

I'll recommend what I believe your awning actually needs, rather than trying to sell you something you don't.

How Often Should an
Awning Be Serviced?

For most residential retractable awnings, I'd recommend considering an annual service.

Regular servicing is particularly worthwhile if the awning is used frequently or has been exposed to challenging weather conditions.

Commercial awnings may benefit from more frequent checks depending on how heavily they're used.

If you're unsure whether your awning needs servicing, I'm happy to assess its condition and advise you.

MANUAL AND MOTORISED AWNINGS

I can service both manual and motorised retractable awnings, including systems with motors, remote controls and weather sensors.

I also provide servicing for awnings at homes and commercial properties, including businesses such as restaurants, cafés and other outdoor seating areas.
