For this project, we had the opportunity to install a Retractable Patio Awning at a modern family residential property. We were able to document the process to show our customers exactly what goes into a professional installation.
Step 1: Initial Survey
Every awning installation begins with a detailed site survey.
Because folding arm awnings are both substantial and precision-engineered, it’s essential that we carefully assess the structure of the wall they will be fitted to. This ensures the installation is completely secure and built to last.

Step 2: Made-to-Measure Awning
Your awning is custom-made and bespoke to your exact specifications.
We use high-quality, weather-resistant fabrics that are designed to be:

The awning is housed within a full powder-coated aluminium cassette, which protects the fabric and mechanism when not in use.
Once all details are confirmed, we place the order based on your chosen design.
Step 3: Installation Day
On the day of installation, our experienced fitting team arrives fully prepared.
Before any work begins, we recheck all measurements to ensure absolute accuracy. The bracket positions are then carefully marked out.
We drill precise fixing points into the wall, taking care to minimise dust and disruption throughout the process.
Step 4: Secure Fixing System
To ensure maximum strength and safety, we use a professional resin fixing system rather than standard wall plugs.
This involves:

Cleaning out each drilled hole thoroughly

Inserting a specialist resin sleeve

Injecting high-performance resin
-
Securing the fixing bolts into place
This method creates a much stronger bond with the brickwork compared to traditional fixings, reducing the risk of damage and ensuring long-term reliability.
Step 5: Awning Installation
Once the brackets are fully secured, the awning cassette is carefully lifted into position.
Due to the weight and size of the unit, this is always carried out by at least two installers to ensure everything is aligned and fitted safely.
Our team works methodically to ensure every component is installed correctly and to a high standard.
Step 6: Final Adjustments & Testing
After installation, we fine-tune the awning to ensure smooth operation.
This includes:

Adding sun & wind sensors to your specification
